Ofsted

Dear Parents/Carers,

Re: Ofsted short inspection of Helsby High School (22 May 2018)

Please find attached a copy of the recently published letter from Liz Kelly, the Ofsted inspector who led the short inspection of the school on Tuesday 22 May 2018. I am pleased to say that the report confirms our own judgement that Helsby High School continues to be a good school.

The inspection process was rigorous and fair, throughout what was an extremely busy day. We were delighted that, as usual, our students showed themselves in a very positive light to the inspection team. We would also like to thank students, parents and staff for the many constructive responses to the Ofsted questionnaires, which the Ofsted team made particular reference to during the visit.

The report summarises some of the many positive aspects of our school and it also endorses aspects that we were already working on to make our school even better. It makes particularly favourable comments about the strength of leaders throughout the school and this means that Helsby High School is well placed to become an outstanding school in the future.

I would like to thank everyone across the school community, including students, staff, governors and families for the hard work, support and many contributions that result in Helsby High School being such an excellent school.

Yours faithfully,

John Dowler

Headteacher
