The Food Room has been a hive of activity this week with our Year 11 Food Preparation & Nutrition students carrying out their 3 hour mock practical assessment.
Each student had to plan, prepare, cook and present 2 dishes nutritionally suitable for someone with either rickets or osteomalacia. We have had an amazing range of things being made from lasagnes, pizzas and curries through to cheesecakes and pavlovas.
Huge congratulations to all the students – they have really risen to the challenge and now feel more confident and well prepared for their real assessment in January.
A big thank you must also go the parents, relatives and carers behind the scenes who made sure their student was organised with ingredients. We hope the food made it home for them to enjoy!
