Helsby Sixth Form has a new team of Head Students for the forthcoming 12 months and the five students have already begun their duties, which include representing the Sixth Form both within the school and out in the wider community.
The students (pictured left to right) are:
Isabella, who is currently studying Maths, Physics, Further Maths and Chemistry. She plans to study Maths with Physics at university. Isabella told us “I am delighted to have been given the role of Head Student and look forward to working with the rest of the leadership team. I am looking forward to being a positive influence on the school and developing my leadership skills.”
Saffron studies Psychology, Sociology and English Language. Speaking about her future plans, Saffron explained “I am keeping my options open after my A-Levels and for that reason I am currently exploring various avenues open to me.” Saffron added “I am delighted to be part of the Head Student team, which provides an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience whilst making a constructive and positive contribution to my school and the wider local community.”
Catrin is studying Drama, English Literature, History and Performing Arts. Speaking about her future, Catrin said “Drama and performance is my passion and I hope to go into this in the future. After A-Levels I hope to go to Guildford School of Acting.” On her new role, she added ”I am so excited to have been selected to be part of the Head Student team. I love to see goals being achieved, my own along with others and I feel I will be able to contribute to this in a variety of ways.”
Katie studies French, Psychology and Drama and is hoping to go on to study Psychology and go into behavioural profiling in the future. She feels that “Being appointed Head Student is an honour for me and I really hope that if any students have any questions or worries, they feel that they can come and speak to me.”
Sonny is studying Politics, History and Economics hopes to do a Degree Apprenticeship in Law or Economics. He told us “It is an honour to have been chosen as Head Student, it is something I have always wanted to be since I joined Helsby. I will embrace the many opportunities that come with this role and aim to be a great role model both within the school and out in the wider community.”
Director of Sixth Form at Helsby High, Ian Duffell added “We are all really looking forward to working with such a talented and dedicated team of Head Students, and we know that they will be outstanding group of ambassadors, both for The Sixth Form and for the wider school. They are fortunate to be leading an excellent wider leadership group of Year 12 students who are taking up roles to further develop the Sixth Form in crucial areas such as Mental Health and Charity work. We understand the importance of our students having the opportunity to develop their leadership skills as well as being to achieve outstanding academic results in Helsby Sixth Form and I know that they will be working hard to support and inspire students throughout the school and in the wider community over the coming year.”
