Students Raise £1000 for local charities

On Thursday 20 December 2018 students and staff from Helsby High School donated £500 each to Chester Aid to the Homeless and Runcorn and District Foodbank in a cheque presentation at the school. Robert Bisset from Chester Aid to the Homeless and Colin Keiley from Runcorn and District Foodbank were presented with the cheques by students from Year 7 – 10. The money had been raised by students donating £1 in order to wear their own clothes on the last day of term.

As a nice surprise the school also donated over 50 hampers of food that the students had collected as part of our annual hamper appeal. Prior to the presentation, we provided the local senior citizens of our community with over 90 hampers being delivered to their home or being taken away after the senior citizens’ party that was held in school on Tuesday 18 December.

On behalf of the students, staff and governors I would like to thank the families of our students who have given so generously this year and also wish you all a very merry Christmas.
