The ski trip this term involved a drive down the M6 to try out the outdoor dry ski slope at Stoke on Trent. They have an impressive ‘double slope’ there, which gave our students some new skiing challenges.
The first hour was spent having a go at developing some Freestyle Skills including bumps, jumps and rails. The café provided us with ‘half-time’ food, and sitting out eating and relaxing in the sunshine was a real pleasure. For the second hour-long session the students worked on Slalom Skills, racing down the main slope round a course of short poles fixed into the matting.
These sessions provide instruction and challenge for skiers of all abilities, so do look out for an opportunity to come with us when we return to Stoke again soon!
