Cheshire Police Radio Advert Competition Winners!

The Media Studies department is very pleased and proud to announce that Helsby High School has been named as the secondary school winner of the Cheshire Constabulary/Crimebeat Safer Schools media competition. There were over 100 schools from across the county who entered multiple adverts for this competition, but the powerful and un-nerving entry created by Emma H, Sophie P, Josh M and Jess S, warning teenagers about the dangers of online grooming, has been selected as the winner out of hundreds of entries. The judges included representatives of the police, Crimebeat and The High Sherriff of Cheshire, who said that the quality of entries was extremely high, but that this particular entry created by pupils from Helsby High was deemed to be the best. The organisers are still in the planning stages of a prize-giving event which will be staged before the summer holidays to recognise this fantastic achievement.
