During the successful Year 6 induction evenings on the 11th & 12th July, there was an opportunity to display all of the work Year 7 & 8 had completed on their Author & Genre Studies. We had many visitors, from relatives of our Year 7 & 8 students to new Year 6 students who were all very impressed by the work on display.
During Year 7 & 8, students spend one English lesson a fortnight engaged with an independent study project where they explore the work of an author or a selected genre. The goals of this project are multifaceted, but some of the key areas we hope students develop are their independent learning skills and their creative approach to work. These skills are both hugely important as students progress through their school careers.
Thank you to Year 7 & 8 for their hard work on these projects.
