Graham Evans MP Visits Helsby High School

Mr S Edwards | |

On Friday morning, Year 12 and 13 students at Helsby High School were pleased to welcome our local MP for Weaver Vale, Graham Evans, into school. Mr Evans spent an hour being quizzed by the students on a number of issues, ranging from HS2 and school funding, to Syrian refugees and the ‘Northern Powerhouse’. Students had the opportunity to ask follow up questions and they also gained an insight into the work of an MP. Many of the students are currently studying for A levels in Government and Politics and Economics and so they found the session extremely interesting. One of the students in Year 12 commented, “It was really good to be able to learn a little about the work of a Member of Parliament and to be able to ask Mr Evans directly about important issues of the day.”
